Overview

As a long-time performance artist and Sr. UX Designer, passionate about creating powerful experiences, it became my vision to build a production company that could facilitate artistic expression while bridging the divide between different communities. The focus of this work began with the concept of an inclusive space for collaboration across creative disciplines, but it grew into something far more profound.

Our Impact

  • This event gave me a space to feel safe, be in community with friendly, talented people, witnessing people’s strength, grace and skill inspired me to be brave and express my aerial arts in a public, nonjudgmental setting. I made friendships with people who could have been enemies and deepened connection with others. Seriously the highlight of summer.

  • Levity is a huge community force and creative hub in Seattle. It makes circus arts accessible and gives a platform for people that may not be able to otherwise witness, experience or perform circus arts. It encourages people to explore themselves and their own forms of self expression. It brings people together and builds connections that continue beyond Gasworks. I’ve heard people speaking highly of the Levity events in communities beyond Seattle, in other states even. It’s impactful and important to have this kind and scale of community gathering and collective creative expression in Seattle.

  • Good Lord - I’ve lived in Seattle for decades and the Levity Arts shows at Gas Works are the most amazing events I’ve ever witnessed in this town. I could go on at length, but I’ll try to boil my rave down to Two Points. The SKILLS & ARTISTRY on display at these events are UNPARALLELED! These performers have spent YEARS honing their crafts, and it shows! What they do is nothing short of miraculous. And #2, I was too young for Woodstock, and have never been to Burning Man, but I’m pretty sure the Good Will & Generousity of spirit on display at these events rivals anything else ever seen on earth. No cap. The crowd for these shows is MASSIVE, but 5 loaves & 2 fish would somehow stretch to feed all of us during a Levity Show!

  • It is awesome to see people come together in gasworks for such an interesting and inspiring art event. This type of aerial stuff is hard for people to access or get into and watching little kids get to come check it out for free just means more people doing more art. It’s great!
